Calgary, Canada. The Association of Nepalis in America (ANA) has commenced its 42nd international conference in Calgary, Canada. The conference will run from August 22nd to August 24th.
The first day of the conference (Friday, August 22nd) featured numerous events. These included a golf tournament, networking opportunities with various individuals, participant registration, and a poetry reading program called ‘Anessas’. The conference chair, Khagendra Adhikari, welcomed and thanked all attendees. On the same day, everyone also collectively celebrated the 89th birthday of ANA’s founding president, Dr. Harihar Sharma.
Tomorrow, Sunday, August 24th, will be the most important day of the conference. Formal and various significant programs will take place. Nepalis from the USA and around the world continue to arrive. Many important personalities are expected to participate in tomorrow’s events.
Discussion on Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Citizenship
This afternoon, Saturday, August 23rd, an important discussion program on the citizenship and legal rights of NRNs (Non-Resident Nepalis) is scheduled. Three experts will present their views: international policy expert and Member of Parliament Dr. Swarnim Wagle, senior advocate Dr. Narayan Ghimire, and citizenship expert Rajendra Prasad Poudel.
Who Organizes This Conference?
The Association of Nepalis in America (ANA) organizes this conference. This organization represents Nepalis living in the USA, Canada, and South America. A conference of this scale is being held in Canada after 37 years. There are 26 committees working to make the conference a success.
