KATHMANDU, June 26 — Nepal Police have arrested 18 operators and representatives from 15 unregistered education consultancies during a coordinated crackdown across Kathmandu Valley.

The arrests were made following inspections in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, where authorities found several firms operating without required legal registration. Of those detained, 14 have been sent to the District Police Range Kathmandu, while two each were forwarded to police ranges in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur for further investigation.

The consultancies under action include Guruba/Study Glider, LEXICO Education, Pascal Education, Apitome Education, Meghatech Education, Skill Point Education, Vibrant Education, Dream Education, Universal Gateway, Victory Education, 24 Hours Education, Greener Education, Global Impact, Ureshi Education, and Bloom Abroad.

Police said the operation aims to curb fraud in the education consultancy sector and enforce compliance with laws governing overseas study facilitation services.

This follows a major nationwide crackdown on May 1, when 195 consultancies were raided and 68 operators were arrested over allegations of cheating students in the name of foreign study opportunities.
