Colorado, USA – The newly elected executive committee of ‘Nepali Ghar’, a prominent Nepali cultural center in Colorado, USA, has officially assumed office following a handover and felicitation ceremony. The event witnessed a significant turnout of community leaders, representatives from various organizations, and local residents.

The program commenced with the chief guest, senior social worker Ram Prasad Shrestha, lighting the traditional panas lamp, followed by the national anthems of Nepal and the United States.

During the ceremony, outgoing President Basanta Lamsal formally handed over the leadership to the newly elected President, Ganga Chaulagain, wishing the incoming committee a successful tenure.

Strategic Vision for the Future
Outlining the key priorities of his tenure, newly elected President Chaulagain announced plans to complete the remaining administrative processes for the Nepali Ghar building to secure the Certificate of Occupancy. His vision also includes developing the assembly hall into a modern, multipurpose community center and constructing a volleyball court to actively engage the younger generation with the organization.

President Chaulagain emphasized that making Nepali Ghar completely debt-free requires the collective effort, financial contribution, and united participation of the entire community, urging everyone to support the campaign.

Call for Unity and Youth Engagement
Speaking as the special guest, Sharad Kumar Aran, the Acting Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, stated that unity is the greatest strength for the Nepali diaspora. He underscored that involving the younger generation in leadership, social activities, and community service is vital for institutional growth.

On the occasion, representatives from various Nepali community organizations and social workers congratulated the new leadership. They pledged continuous support toward institutional strengthening, infrastructure development, and the debt-free initiative for Nepali Ghar.
The event was presided over by outgoing President Basanta Lamsal. Current General Secretary Raju Khanal delivered the welcome address, while Senior Vice President Bhola Katuwal emceed the program. According to the organizers, the event reaffirmed the community’s trust in the new leadership and renewed a shared commitment to developing Nepali Ghar into a stronger community hub.
