MYAGDI: Traffic along the Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala highway ground to a halt on Saturday evening after multiple trees fell and blocked the road at Begkhola in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-1.
The obstruction has left numerous vehicles stranded, cutting off the vital route for commuters traveling between Beni and Jomsom, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Myagdi.
The sudden road closure has severely impacted local residents, as well as a large number of domestic and international tourists and pilgrims heading to the sacred Muktinath Temple in Mustang.
Current Status:
Sagar Timilsina, Information Officer at the Myagdi DPO, stated that a coordinated clearance operation is currently underway. Security personnel, local laborers, and heavy equipment from the Department of Roads have been deployed to clear the debris and reopen the highway as quickly as possible.
